Virtual reality is a new word for most of the peoples around the world. But before realizing the opportunities of virtual reality, there are many Hollywood movies in which Virtual reality is used. Hollywood always travels before time, they imagined every future technology and they mentioned it in movies. In more than 15 movies, they have mentioned about Virtual reality and in some movies they are clearly using some VR Headsets. These are the movies I was talking about….
The movie was released in 1982 and this is considered as one of few first films that mentioned Human-Computer interaction. Tron have a good graphics when comparing to the other movies of that time. The hero of the movie “Kevin” was a game developer and his former company stole his game idea. For taking back his ownership credentials, He sneaks into his old office and by mistake he immersed into the virtual cyber space.
2. BrainStorm (1983) Walken was a research Scientist who invented a revolutionary brain reading device that can be attached to the Head. The machine will read the thought process of the person who wear it and will convert it into a video tape. The movie also considered as a virtual reality based movie. The head mount (HMD) that used in that movie gives the idea of today’s VR HMD. 3. Arcade
Arcade was released in 1993 and it was a gaming film. The teens disappear while they playing a game Arcade. The players playing and lose when playing will disappears to a virtual reality world. However the film has a happy ending
The film offers a huge number of fictional theories like virtual reality that become truth now. The device used in this movie is much similar to current VR Headsets that are available in market now
5. The Matrix.
Thomas, a Computer programmer led a fight against some powerful computers now ruling the world with a system known as Matrix. The movie almost collected 465 billion US dollars. The science fiction film is written and directed by Wachowskis, and in many parts Virtual Reality is mentioned.
6. The Congress
An aging, out-of-work actress accepts one last job, though the consequences of her decision affect her in ways she didn’t consider. The film is ambitious and heartfelt, with the pressing concers about the virtualization and fantasization of reality . The movie is an animated one but it explines Virtual reality concept.
Virtual reality headsets are now a common device in the electronic markets across the world. There are hell lots of companies that making Virtual reality headsets. The common problem facing while planning to buy a VR Headset was its non-affordable price. The Chinese multinational electronics company Lenovo is yet to release a Virtual reality headset that is very much affordable for common peoples.
As per the reports, the VR Headset will cost below 400$. This decision was made from an inspiration of Microsoft’s Windows Holographic platform which includes participation of companies like, Dell, HP, Asus and Acer.
As per the information’s we got, it is sure will be a masterpiece VR headset from Lenovo. The specs are really good and if you are buying any other company headsets at these specs, you are going to pay a lot.
It will have two 1440×1440 OLED display panels; it is very much higher resolution than PlayStation VR and HTC Vive. One most important thing that we are expecting on this VR Headset was ability to work without external sensors. External sensors are the most important parts in most of the high end Virtual reality headsets that are available in the market. PlayStation VR, and HTC vive may need a room space to fix it and we cannot use it anywhere else with maximum accuracy. Since Lenovo’s VR Headset doesn’t need an external sensor, we can expect more user friendliness on this VR Headset.
The VR Headset is designed in way to put the majority of its weight on your fore head to suspend the viewing area in front of your eyes; you don’t need to strap it to your face. The final model will have a weight very much less compared to other VR Headsets that is only 350 Gram.
This headset runs on Windows’s Holographic platform and can deliver room scale VR without external sensors or cameras. But the headset has a head mounted front camera on it.
The VR headset is still un-named and we can expect it on market by the end of this year. System requirements are not yet revealed, but press images have shown windows Holographic headsets can tether to mid-range laptops.

When she hears some voice, she removed the VR headset and find out Chandler is on his knees with a real wedding ring. He is the one who created that virtual engagement ring for her. He surprised her by making a very special wedding propose. She was shocked but enjoyed the way he proposed and accepted the proposal.
She posted this hilarious incident on her Facebook wall and got so many positive responses.
“So there I was typical day…on a sunken ship deck; fixing robots; painting three-dimensional fire; walking through the Alps; and then suddenly, a virtual engagement ring started floating my way. Chandler told me to grab it. Then told me to take off my headset, and there he really was, on one knee, with a real ring. It wasn’t imaginary anymore. But I didn’t say yes. I said, “OF COURSE I WILL MARRY YOU!” Thank you for such a hilarious and fun surprise. I love you and I can’t wait for the life ahead of us.” She wrote this on her Facebook wall.
This is just a starting, the possibilities of virtual reality is far more than what we think. So if you are on a girl and want to impress her, go buy a VR headset before her reading this article.
Dlodlo Has introduced a very thin VR Headset recently. Although it was a VR Headset, we cannot call it a headset, because it really look similar to a Spectacle. Dlodlo has named this headset as Dlodlo V1, it seems like they are going to release a series of Dlodlo VR Glasses.
It’s nothing but its size. When every VR Headset manufacturers are making big shaped helmet like machines, Dlodlo V1 if coming with a slim body that allows user a struggle free usage. Due to the lesser size, it has very less weight also. We can wear it like a sunglass. That brings simplicity of usage.
Not only in the case of wearing, in case of carrying, Other VR Headsets are a big problem while we are travelling. Most of the headsets need a extra backpack to carry it. We can call dlodlo v1 as a pocket friendly VR Headset. Its small, we can carry it in our pocket.
Dlodlo v1 is made by carbon fiber, and so it weighs very less than 100 gram. Its lenses have a thickness of only 0.68 inches. Unlike any other headsets it’s free from elastic straps to fix to the head. Most of the peoples who tried the demo model have revealed that, it is so classy and the image quality is unbelievable compared to other headsets. Dlodlo V1 has a 2560×1440 resolution display with 800ppi for each eyes. Also Dlodlo V1 Have 105 degree field view, which is making Dlodlo V1 a high competition to other VR Headset manufacturers.
The structure is made a way to stop unwanted lights to enter from every sides , but it allow a small quantity of light through its bottom side.
The Dlodlo V1 headset unit consists of a quad-core processor with 3000 mAh battery, which company offering a playback time up to 3 hour. Headset is compatible with PC s and Smartphones. We can easily connect the headset to pc or smartphone by a single cable.
The headsets price is about 559$, it is almost 37000 Indian Rupee. But this price is less than Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
The best thing is, Dlodlo is planning to launch a App store soon for its users. This app store may include VR Games, VR Apps and much more to enhance the VR experience.
One thing is sure; Dlodlo V1 is a milestone for the upcoming VR Technology growth. Also it is a shame for both Oculus and HTC; they consider them as the tech giants and introducers of VR Headsets.
VR headsets will be the next big human invention that is going to make a big change in almost every industry. Actually VR headsets are really like an orphan, who don’t know who is his father. No one knows who invented virtual reality headsets but the idea came from a world of Science fictions and a Lucky guy as his name says, Mr. Palmer Lucky created a prototype that lead the making of Oculus Rift. We are not going deep into the History since we have a lot to discuss about the future.
“Can I Buy a VR Headset” is a Common question.
Actually Why should you buy a VR headset? For watching movies? For playing Games?. My friend recently bought one VR Headset and the first thing he googled after buying That VR headset was “the Best VR Porn” Yaa that too a reason for guys for buying a VR headset.
Getting into the subject, VR Headsets are a really worth buy product in 2016. There are a lot of products in markets with lesser quality that you can buy for very cheap price will help you to Watch movies and play some few games, mostly like motion sensor games. VR Headsets can be used in Areas like, Education, Military, Health, Fashion, entertainment, Engineering, sports, Telecommunications, film and a lot more yet to be found.
Here are the 3 Reasons for not to buy a costly VR headset in 2016
Actually now a very few peoples own very costly VR Headsets, so buying a new VR Headset may seem like buying an iPhone. It may make you feel proud in your friend’s gang. But later you will feel like you are a fool. I will tell you the reason. Almost all the VR headset manufacturers have no idea what this machine is and what is its uses. They think it’s a machine which can use for movie watching and for playing games. So we can’t expect a VR Headset which can fulfill our future needs. The Virtual reality is in its evolving stage, also the VR Headsets. You may get a VR Headsets with a satisfying specification now, but you will get a better one if you wait.
Remember you buy mobile for first time.? In my case I spend around 3000 rupees to take my first mobile which only having a call and sms option, and after a 6 months, my friend came with a new mobile that he bought for same amount, having camera, music player, internet, torch and everything in the world. The same scenario is going to happen now also. Don’t feel you are outdated, some waiting are worth guys.
I recently went to a bazaar, where I found one VR Headset made by Zebronics. I just wear it and checked the quality. It has poor plastic case and two lenses inside it which is adjustable and a very cheap strap which will break if you pull little harder. i shocked when I saw its prize. It’s around 1750 Rupees. For that two lens? That is the only material which is used other than plastic. And the funny thing is, you can use it only for watching movies.
Actually every manufacturer of VR Headsets are fearing of making high number of products, since they are not yet confident about its market, and since there is low competition, they can sell it for any amount they want. That’s why the price is too high.
The biggest reason I didn’t buy a VR headset is, I love my eyes. Not a single VR headset company is bothered about your eyes. In most of the VR Headsets that are already in market, we are placing our mobile phones inside the VR Headset box. So you are going to watch movies for two hours with a distance not more than two inches between your eyes and the screen, those too convex lenses they are using to make an enlarging vision. If you really care about your eyes, never buy a VR Headsets models like I mentioned above. I’m not talking about high end models like Oculus Rift or HTC Vive VR. They will not make your eyes suffer but your brain and body. Its high definition screen will cheat your brain and it will cause an illusion which you will suffer slowly later. So if you are going to buy a VR headset this year, keep some money to spend for your health too.
Virtual reality becomes a famous word to the world recently. It has wide opportunities in market and technology world. There are many Virtual reality headsets available in market now. But some VR Headsets are special because of its quality. Experiencing virtual reality is a dream for everyone now. A well known VR Headset manufacturer, HTC introduced their VR headset, HTC Vive after countless test demo models. Vive is made by HTC and Valve Corporation and give a hit into the market previous week. In this article you can have a close look to HTC Vive and its features, specs, Pros and Con, Tips for getting better experience etc.
Before going to deep technical specification stuffs, we will check what is inside the HTC Vive box.
Design & Comfort
HTC Vive has a camera focusing to the front. The front face is supported by three Velcro straps that can wrap around your head from two sides and top. You may feel little discomfort at first due to the weight of the headset and any error while wrapping it. The headsets weight is little more than a Bike Helmet. But when you start enjoying gaming, you will not feel that weight any more. The cushioning provided in the interface is smooth and giving ample padding.
One frequently asked question is about its fitness to the small or wide faced peoples. But that doubt was unnecessary because, the headset was suitable for even children’s face and if you have a wide face, you can remove the padding and use the headset without that padding. Removing option of the interface padding will also help you to wash/clean the padding after a long time use. Another big help from the designer of this VR Headset was, you can use this VR buddy while wearing spectacles, without any struggle and pain. If you are not getting a pure view, you can adjust the lenses manually according to space between your eyes. A small dial on the right hand side of the headset can be turned to adjust these lenses according to the distance between your eyes. You will get a clear 3D view, if you adjusted the lenses correctly.
When it comes to the Display, HTC Vive is a quality product. It includes dual OLED Displays with a resolution of 1080×1200 per eye and giving a combined resolution of 2160×1200 pixels with a refresh rate of 90Hz per display to provide the stereoscopic 3D image with 110-degree field view. When comparing with PlayStation VR, the refresh rate is slightly less in HTC Vive, but this will not affect much since vive is running off a more powerful GPU. A powerful GPU is more important when it’s come to 3D gaming, since it empowers the quality of graphics.
Most of the VR Headsets available in the market are having a same problem, which is “lagging”. When you turned your head to one side, the headsets tracking system capture that move and adjust the view in the inside screen. This should be sudden or else the user will not feel the originality when gaming. In case of HTC Vive, the lagging delay is very less. Tracking of movements are done by two Base-stations which are cunning to map the play space. Usually, for getting a good performance we should keep these tracking base stations in a height or in a place from where the whole room could be captured. The headset and tracking system have a total of 70 sensors which helps to track your exact location and any small movement when you are inside the play space.
HTC Vive includes a camera on the headsets front side itself to protect you from any obstacles inside the play space. After wearing this headset, our brain can be get fooled by the extreme graphics and performance of this headset, that’s why HTC included a camera in front of it. If you going towards any obstacles inside the room while wearing this VR headset, it will display a feed from the front camera to the user.
I have to say that controllers of HTC Vive is little large for me, may be for you also. Controllers are bigger than Oculus Rift controllers. I was not fully happy with the performance of the Controllers.
The controllers are powered by battery and they are wireless. It includes a dual stage trigger button under each fore finger, a home button and a circular touch pad. The battery life is very good. HTC Vive promised 4-5 hours usage but it lasts up to 7-8 hours. You can see a battery indicator in the main menu, but once you started gaming, the indicator will fade off.

|2. Controllers Performance||2. Less Comfortable than Rift|
